At the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists Conference 2015, in a brilliant and inspirational session about glass ceilings and the lack of gender equality in Archaeology and Heritage, participants agreed that something needed to be done to highlight the everyday sexism inherent in the sector. We therefore take inspiration from The Everyday Sexism Project and have created this site to share Tweets using the hashtag #everyDIGsexism.
Afterwards, on Twitter, it was suggested that we also needed to share inspiration too, so these are shared with the hashtag #ArchSwan which references the inspirational work of the Equality Challenge Unit and the Athena Swan scheme.
As you can see, it is a bit bare. Perhaps in the future something more will grow from these small foundations! But for now this is a temporary page, to share the Tweets that use both hashtags. Twitter feed is in the menu bar to the right – scroll down to the bottom.
